Brianna Sandy

Brianna is an American student in the Intelligence, Peace-building, and Terrorism pathway. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Virginia Wesleyan University. Her research interests include radicalisation and deradicalisation processes, far-right extremism, and political communications and media literacy. She has worked with NATO’s Innovation Hub, and currently works with Cyber 9/12 and the University of Glasgow’s Project Calliope, to build strategic gaming exercises.
Melissa aliouat

Melissa is from France and holds an MA in Geography and Politics from the University of Glasgow. Now on the ‘Causes of Conflict’ pathway as part of the IMSISS degree, her research interests focus on peace studies, especially the protection of civilians in armed conflicts. She currently aims to expand her horizons by learning more about international and European law while at the same time continuing to practice important practical skills related to cartography and the geospatial web.

Areas of interest: EU foreign affairs and security policy, especially restrictive measures in reaction to democracy, rule of law and HR violations worldwide; securitisation of migration and border management; security strategies (states and IOs); climate (in)justice and environmental peacebuilding
Adam TEufel

Adam, a German national but citizen of the world, is on the Intelligence, Peace-building, and Terrorism pathway. He studied political science and economics at Münster University, in the city of Westphalian peace. He focuses on EU issues, Sub-Saharan Africa and Geoeconomics. He has worked with foreign representations of different parts of the German government, as well as German Public Radio.
Anastasiia Vozovych

Originally from Ukraine, Anastasiia has a B.A. in International relations from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Her field of scientific interest includes but is not limited to security studies, intelligence community, conflict studies (in Eastern Europe), and strategic culture. Anastasiia had been a research fellow at HCSS from January to August 2021 prior to IMSISS. Anastasiia was also an intern at the non-profit organization VoxCheck and worked as a research fellow at a Ukrainian private foundation Yalta European Strategy (YES). For the time being, she is Senior Fellow (Security Studies) at the Ukrainian student-run think-tank ADASTRA.

Chiara is an IMSISS student of the “Causes of conflict” pathway. Originally from Italy, she holds a BA in Philosophy, International and Economic studies from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. Currently, she is a Junior Fellow in the Research Centre based in Rome “Geopolitica.info”. Her research interests focus on feminist security studies and peace research. She also focuses her research on the Caucasus and Central Asia regions, especially regarding the so-called “frozen conflicts” and the democratization processes.

Sofia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Padua, Italy. Currently pursuing the International Master in Security, Intelligence and Strategic Studies, her research focuses on intelligence analysis, terrorism and cybersecurity issues. She also has a keen interest towards the Sub-Saharan Africa and MENA regions.
Ebba Bengtson

Ebba is a Swedish national on the ‘Intelligence, Peace-building, and Terrorism’ pathway in the IMSISS programme. Previously she attended the University of Exeter and obtained a bachelor’s degree in International Relations, where she wrote her dissertation project on bilateral relations between de facto states. Her main research interests lie in peace and conflict studies, particularly post-conflict state building and peace building. Other areas of interest include studies around corruption, maritime security and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Lucía Mena Fuentes

Originally from Spain, Lucía is an IMSSIS student in the Intelligence, Peace-building and Terrorism pathway. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Global Studies from the University of Salamanca. Her academic interests include diplomacy, international criminal law, human rights, radicalisation and political violence. She also has a particular interest towards the MENA and Asia-Pacific regions, as well as a growing vocation towards intelligence analysis.
Elias Sköld

After growing up in Thailand, Honduras, and Sweden, Elias now focuses on East Asia, having lived and worked in China on multiple occasions and holding a bachelor's degree in Chinese Studies. His thesis focused on how recent breakthroughs in Artificial Intelligence influenced the Chinese government’s policy practices. His research interests focus on high level political decision-making, disruptive technologies - particularly in the rapidly evolving digital environment - and climate change and its geopolitical consequences.
