Elizabeth Wilson

Elizabeth is a Texan who was a member of the 1st IMSISS cohort from 2017-19; she was a recipient of the competitive Erasmus Mundus Scholarship for the programme. Her thesis was "Artificial Intelligence and Human Security – Governmental AI Strategy Analysis." She helped to establish the brand of The Security Distillery, facilitated the purchasing of the first domain for the website, and wrote and edited for various articles primarily on the intersection of Security and Technology (her concentration within IMSISS).

During Elizabeth's time in the programme, she also was accepted into an internship as a Visiting Researcher at ETH Zurich's Center For Security Studies (CSS), during which she pursued further work on her dissertation and participated in CSS research development and colloquiums. While studying in Prague, Elizabeth wrote a final paper on Satellite Vulnerabilities, which she turned into a conference talk for the information security conference BSides Las Vegas in 2019. Elizabeth also began training aerial circus as an art and sport on the side of her school work while in Dublin at DCU, and has now trained in 5 countries in multiple disciplines.

Prior to IMSISS, she obtained a BBA in International Business concentrating in Russian Language and Culture from the University of Texas at Arlington, and worked professionally as a Software Engineer. As of 2021, Elizabeth is working on a 2nd Master degree: Master of Science in Computer Science with a concentration in AI/Machine Learning technologies. She also continues to improve her technological, hacking, and circus skills in her free time.
