Bailey Galicia

- Events Coordinator

Bailey holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science with a concentration in Economics. After graduation, he received a Fulbright Scholarship in Bulgaria to focus on identity formation in the Balkans and coached a nationally recognized debate team. Through studying in Morocco to gain insights into LGBTQ+ community in authoritarian contexts and working in rural Uganda to facilitate the integration of former child soldiers into their communities, Bailey developed a passion for understanding the securitisation of marginalised groups. Bailey aspires to return to his home in the US South to study the re-emergence of seditionist sentiments.

 

Ségolène de Mathelin de Papigny

- Events Coordinator

Ségolène holds an honours Bachelor degree in Political Science and an honours Master degree in Conflict Resolution and Governance from the University of Amsterdam. Her first dissertation looked into Afghan women’s resistance to patriarchy and war, and her Master thesis focused on identity and religious reconciliation in Lebanon. Now an IMSISS student, Segolene’s core interests are human and refugee rights, counterterrorism, and peace-building in the Middle East.

 

Ilenia Bruseghello

- Member of the Events Team

Ilenia is a former cadet of the Italian Navy with three years of experience in the military field. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Political Science and International Relations from Sapienza University of Rome with a final dissertation on cyberterrorism in Europe. Her main areas of interest include emerging technologies, space security, arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation. She is a NATO Public Diplomacy Grantee with experience in project management and policy development. Having studied in both Italy and France, worked in Albania and Montenegro, and now pursuing the IMSISS program, she possesses a diverse international profile that has enriched her multicultural awareness and global secuirity perspective.

 
 
 

Anna Larosa 

- Member of the Events Team

Anna holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychological Science with a focus on forensic neuroscience and psychology and behaviour analysis. She has also worked as a research assistant for various psychological research projects. As an IMSISS student she is delving deeper into some of  her main interests: criminal intelligence, transnational organised crime, particularly human trafficking, and its intersection with human rights violations.

 
 
 

Kristina Velimirovic

- Member of the Events Team

Kristina holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Belgrade, with a year at Charles University in Prague. In her both previous research and practical experience, Kristina focused on the foreign and security policy of the European Union. She worked as a Junior Researcher and Project Assistant within the leading Wester Balkan think-thank, following the accession process of Serbia and rest of the region. Moreover, Kristina completed a traineeship within the EU Delegation to Serbia, supporting its work in the Justice and Home Affairs and social inclusion area. Once in IMSISS, Kristina is specialising in security and defence cooperation of the Union, peackeeping and crisis management.

 
 
 

Eimear Duggan

- Member of the Events Team

Eimear holds a first-class BA Honours degree in International Relations from the University of St Andrews. Her research interests lie in far-right extremism and ethnic conflicts, with a regional focus on the Balkans. Eimear previously worked for charity SolidariTee, raising legal aid funds for refugees across the world.

 
 
 

Christian Georgiou

- Member of the Events Team

Hailing from the United Kingdom, Christian is an experienced trilingual analyst with extensive experience in the legal and private investigations sectors. His current research interests include the changing faces of cyber influence campaigns during the global advent of AI and the geopolitics of transnational cyber crime.
