The Security Distillery is excited to invite you to this event, hosted by Osservatorio Artico.
Climate change is impacting the Arctic region as nowhere else. Something which means a dramatic change in international relations, scientific cooperation and economics. The Arctic, huge polar region, represents one of the "hottest" points of how much geopolitics, security and defence represent global challenges, and how much any change can have direct impacts even on geographically distant regions. Here climate change has an impact more than three times greater than what we see, already dramatically, in our latitudes. And this also indirectly affects Italy. The progressive melting of the ice and the radical transformation of the entire region opens up completely new scenarios: tourism, investments, trade routes, energy. And also the possibility that there may be bitter armed conflicts in the Arctic.
Make sure to save the date!
The event is scheduled to take place on 12th April 2024, at 16:30 GMT / 15:30 CET on Zoom.

Osservatorio Artico
Osservatorio Artico is the first Italian-language magazine dedicated to the North Pole and the Arctic region, aiming to bring the Arctic to the Italian public, describing the changes taking place in one of the most delicate regions on the planet. Starting from the environment, we analyze the political, economic and social scenarios evolving in the region, with a particular eye on the connections of the Arctic with Italy. The geopolitics of the region is our main focus, and we work in close synergy with local bodies, national Institutions and stakeholders to obtain precise information on the various topics.
