John Boyle

- Podcast Coordinator

John is currently a student in the IMSISS Master in the ‘Causes of Conflict’ pathway. In 2020, John earned a first-class honours in History and Politics from University College Cork where he was a member of the College’s Journalism Society. During his BA John’s research area focus was primarily on political, sectarian, and performative violence during the Irish War of Independence and the Civil War. A passionate storyteller, John has a broad field of interests revolving around protracted conflicts in Ireland and Palestine and the ongoing war in Ukraine.

 

Christopher Dunn

- Podcaster

Christopher holds a BA in International Studies with a Security Concentration from Dickinson College in Pennsylvania. He spent five years working for the National Democratic Institute, an international NGO based in Washington, D.C., which supports international democracy development. Based on this experience, his research interests include the human security-democracy nexus, as well as right-wing extremism, civil-military relations and food security.

 
 
 

 Fiora Laulan

Fiora holds a joint Master of Arts in Central and Eastern European studies and History from the University of Glasgow. Coming from a French and Polish background, she would like to work for an international organization focusing on security. Her previous research focused on the growing Organized Crime influence in Crimea and the People's Republic of Donetsk and Luhansk after Crimea's invasion in 2014. Her main areas of interest are counter-terrorism and the radicalisation process, organized crime, Human security, and security issues in Eastern Europe, Russia, the Caucasus and Central Asia.

 
 
 

Anya McCrimmon

Anya holds an MA in German and International Relations from the University of Aberdeen. Her studies in the realm of IR focused on power, conflict and counter-terrorism. Anya’s final year dissertation focused on the relationship between the public, the media and the government in counter-terrorism policy. Now as an IMSISS student, Anya’s research interests lie in far-right extremism and counter-terrorism policy.

 
 
 

Yu Wei Chen

Yu Wei is currently studying in International Master Security, Intelligence & Strategic Studies. He has 8 years experience as a police officer and was the head of the Special Police Corps. His main tasks involved protecting the Taiwan Presidential motorcade, planning the deployment of assaulting on a Fortified position, large-scale protests and protection critical infrastructure, investigating major crimes like drug trafficking, transnational fraud and organised crime. He has an undergraduate degree in public security with a focus on international security, communication and relations, counterterrorism, cross-strait relations, intelligence science. He is also a Published Writer in Taiwan.

 
 
 

Sabina Jiaxin Han

Holding a linguistics degree in Czech studies, Sabina’s multilingual and cross-cultural background equips her with strong analytical skills in international studies, with a critical orientation towards global affairs. The key fields interest her include but not limited to Economic Security, Technology Application in Global affairs, Peace and Conflict Resolution and Disaster Risk Reduce. She previously worked for several INGOs in international funding & humanitarian aid. 

 
 
 

Mekhala Jambholkar

Originally from India, Mekhala holds a BA Honours degree with a triple major in Philosophy, History and Literature. Her main areas of interest are refugee studies, disinformation and computational propaganda. She wants to work at the intersection of technology and society, especially in relation to how digital infrastructures are reshaping our world.

 
 
 

Jordi Bernal Fabra

- Podcaster

Jordi holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, spending a semester at Sciences Po Paris. He specialises in peacekeeping, conflict analysis, and insurgency and terrorism in the Middle East and Africa. He has collaborated writing articles for Werra think tank and The Political Room foreign affairs portal. Before IMSISS, he participated in Models United Nations and co-founded the Spanish International Relations Students Association.
